Shaughn is originally from Charlotte and is a product of East Mecklenburg High School. He earned a baseball and academic scholarship to Wingate University where he started all four years as the second baseman for the Bulldogs.
After college, Shaughn played professionally in the Golden Baseball League for the Reno Silver Sox as a utility infielder.
His coaching career started with the On Deck O’s in Charlotte, NC and led him to East Chapel Hill High School as the head JV coach for 4 years.
Before becoming the Head Baseball coach at Caldwell Academy in July 2023, Shaughn was the head coach of 2 different programs, Carrboro High School, Carrboro, NC and Bethany Community School, Summerfield, NC.
He has compiled a 62-59 overall record, 2A Mid State Conference Championship (Carrboro, 2015), 2A Mid State Coach of the Year (Carrboro, 2015) and a Northwest Piedmont 1A conference championship (Bethany CS, 2022)
Shaughn is passionate about coaching the game of baseball and wants every player to BE A BALLPLAYER!
